In any good story the plot intensifies and you can feel the increase in drama and tension. This is the role of the Model 20 Mk. 2. The footprint is intermediate-sized and the body more robust to take SME’s fluid damped Suspended Suspension System a level up. Advanced damping technology is also taken advantage of by way of advanced damping materials applied to the body to significantly reduce the effects of mechanical distortion on music. Vibrations from the motor assembly, bearing, and even airborne soundwaves from the speakers themselves and their impact on accuracy have been addressed. A split-level main and sub-chassis design further reduces distortion. Even speed control, accuracy, and stability have been improved by a new advanced drive system, making the Mk. 2 version of the Model 20 turntable a significant improvement over the highly acclaimed original.
Available with or without a tonearm, the Model 20 Mk. 2 is supplied as standard with SME’s flagship Series V ’arm in either 9” or 12” versions and wired with pure Mono-Crystal Silver wiring.
